The first thing you’ll see on your Block Party report is your overall protection score, an indicator of how well your digital life is protected and whether you're getting the most out of Block Party.
Below your overall protection score, you’ll see three subscores: online safety, digital wellbeing, and data ownership. In each of these sections, we’ll provide a detailed breakdown of how well you’re protected, what risks still remain, and where you can take quick action to improve your posture and ultimately, your score.
If you've enabled autoscans (available with a paid plan), your report will include a summary of your most recent scan. Each month, autoscans check 200+ settings across your accounts, identifying any new risks or changes that might need attention. This helps ensure your accounts stay secure without having to manually review everything yourself.
Your Block Party protection score is based on your progress across the three key areas: online safety, digital wellbeing, and data ownership. Each subscore is calculated based on the strength of your account settings and actions you’ve taken to clean up your accounts and can be minimal, moderate, or high.
Note: Your overall protection score reflects progress only on the platforms you’ve started a checklist for. Platforms you haven’t started aren’t included, so your score may shift as you add new ones or begin to work through them.
🛡️ Online safety: how protected are you from bad actors and unwanted interactions?
Your online safety score reflects how well your accounts are set up to block threats, limit unwanted contact, and safeguard your presence across the platforms you use. Strong security measures help prevent account takeovers, while visibility and interaction settings determine who can see you and how they can engage with your profile and content. If you’ve removed unwanted connections on Facebook or turned off location features, those choices contribute directly to your score. Child safety settings are also factored in here when applicable.
✨ Digital wellbeing: how aligned is your digital experience with what matters to you?
This score measures how much your digital environment supports your focus and peace of mind. It looks at things like notification settings that reduce constant interruptions, screen time limits that help you disconnect, and personalization controls that keep your feed better aligned with your interests. If you’ve blocked people on X, or adjusted settings that shape your platform experience, you’re actively protecting your mental space, and your score will reflect it.
🔐 Data ownership: how much control do you have over your personal data?
Your data ownership score captures how much of your information stays in your own hands, and not advertisers, AI training sets, or third-party applications. It includes ad preferences that reduce tracking, data settings that stop unnecessary sharing, and content cleanups that shrink your digital footprint. Whether you’ve archived Instagram photos, deleted comments on Reddit, or wiped posts from X, every action helps reinforce what’s out there and how it’s used.
Everyone has different concerns about being online, and what matters most varies from person to person. While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to staying protected, there are protections that benefit everyone no matter their goals.
Your Block Party report is built on top of these basics, but is designed to give you the flexibility to double down on what’s most important to you. Whether you're focused on increasing your account security, protecting your attention, or minimizing your digital footprint, our report helps you strengthen these areas without compromising convenience or how you use your accounts.
Continue making progress through checklists for each platform to see your protection score go up. Review your recommendations, accept the updates that make sense for you and skip the others; the bullet points under each subscore give you more information about the specific settings that drive those scores.
What if you’re fine with a minimal or moderate score? That’s fine by us, too! Everyone has different concerns and priorities, and what matters is that you’re making intentional choices that align with your personal needs and the tradeoffs you’re comfortable with. For example, if you're focused on building a bigger audience, you might prioritize visibility over certain privacy settings. If you're a professional in the public eye looking to limit access to your family, you may opt for stronger security measures.
